Boxing day - 2010

What a better way to spend boxing day than out on the water!! Well the cricket was crap, so we hung out on Rosemary Island. When we first pulled into a bay called Chookie Bay, there were about 5 sharks between us and the beach so we decided to pull anchor and move somewhere else! The kids are having a fat time on the water and they are swimming with so much confidence these days. Jacko was a tad fearful of getting in the water, the sharks spooked him i think! We went to Bec and Ropeys in the evening for a dinner!! All good!

Xmas Day 2010 - Karratha

Xmas was different this year, for a few reasons....... We were all away from our families, it was pretty hot (like 39 degrees @ 9am kinda hot), we looked for a Pilbara orphan (and found one) and Sammy was doing anything to reduce his debt! He walked around the block at the hottest time of the day with his gingerbread man suit (what the??) on for $50.
Robyn cooked a spectacular luncheon of roast turkey meat and an nblvbl cheesecake. We boughta ham from the naked butcher in Mundaring and flew it back with us and we are making inroads into getting through it. Robyn scored an iPad, which she thoroughly loves and can read the Oz when she gets up. The kids were totally spoilt, but why shouldn't they be and i received a fabulous tide watch and a weber BBQ for the boat that i am warming to! ALl in all it was a fabulous day and i got to spend it with 5 of my most favourite people in the whole wide world. We moved the house around to fit Jack in, its quite busy with 4 kids!

Out at the Islands

Well, I knew WE wanted a boat... well I knew I wanted a boat but it has certainly exceeded expectations for us as a family to spend time together on the beautiful islands out on the Dampier Archipelago. There are 43 islands out off Dampier and every weekend so far we have managed to get out away from our busy world on the mainland. Robyn feels much better now she is kitted out properly in the appropriate attire (a girl thing), she bought some sexy bathers and some linen clothes so now feels more like the woman of the boat !!! I'm easy in a pair of boardies, and the kids are having a wow of a time. Even when its windy there are always bays where you can hide in to have a beach day, suits me, the kids are getting very confident in the water and I manage to throw a line in or use the cast net.... EASY!! Weekend off the water this weekend, we are preparing for Rosies 4th birthday next weekend. Ciao!!

Melbourne in September!

Well, you cant beat Melbourne on the last weekend in September, or is that the first week of October?? What a classic grand final to be at, the draw that is!!! The second game didn't live up to expectations but i guess it shows the Pies were a better side on the day! $%^&*ers! We had a classic time in Ol Melbourne town, lots of good breakfasts, late walks, tram rides.... the kids had a blast. They were very well behaved, not bad little travellers. Robyn, Marg and Rosie all went out to a magical morning matinee for Mary Poppins and Rosie came back agog with the delights of all beautiful things in the world!! Ahhh, the world is as it should be!

Pannawonica rodeo

Well George thought the rodeo was a blast, he was very into it!!! At one stage he had a heap of chairs upside down and was riding the legs , well thats what it seemed like they were doing on the other side of the fence. It was very authentic, shame a horse had to be put down after it ran into the fence. This was the day before fathers day, we all had a super time. Breakfast in the new Panna mess hall with the kids!

The boat arrives!

Well its been a long time coming, and I promised Rob I wouldn't get a boat till September! So on Sept 3rd WE purchased a boat... Not so much a dinghy but a Mustang Clubsport 2400..... It is a cool boat, I was a bit slow in getting her in and out of the water the first couple of times but it wasn't too bad on the last retrieval. Looks like it is going to be an island summer for this Pilbara house. Come and join us if you feel like some sun, and some more sun... oh yeah..and some flies!

The start of the journey

We arrived here on March 1s, very uneventfully except we had our two excited littlies who were just stoked to be on a plane. For Rob and I, it was just another plane. They were very good really! We had a bit of a drive around Dampier and headed to our 'transit' house in Berkeley St. We stayed there for 4 nights in this 40 year old dog box but it was great to hang out with the kids. The look on Rosies face when frogs came out of the tap in the bath was priceless. Sarah, the nanny, arrived on Wednesday 3rd March, so I thought it a good idea to take her to our new home first as soon as she arrived off the plane (good idea) before I took her back to Dampier! Anyway after much pestering Crown relocations to deliver our household stuff, it arrived on Friday 5th March. Taking as much notice as I do about the trivial things in life, I was stoked to work out that the container i was unloading wasn't the right one, i wasn't as stoked to have gotten up early then had to wait for them to take the container back and bring the 'right' one! Rob told me off for giving somebody a serve, I'm not normally like that!! Here are photos of our new pad, when it was empty on move in day!
